BATTERY AND MAINTENANCE TIPS
Battery Tips - Fridge Preparation

Conserve battery by bringing your fridges down to temperature while on 240V, both internal and fridge slide. Two days before departure, turn your fridges on and start loading your food and drinks, so that the contents of the fridges are also down to temperature.

When leaving, ensure the fridges are set to eco mode so they use less power while running from the battery. Fan speed and temperatures should be adjusted to mid-range settings. Although there are many varying factors, so monitor the fridge contents and adjust as required,
Battery Tips - Inverter and Lights

Ensure any inverter installed is turned OFF when not in use. An inverter will always pull a trickle feed when on, even if no devices / appliances are in use.

When not in the van, we suggest turning all internal lights off and only turn on the outside lights as needed. Overnight, don't forget to turn the outside lights off. This helps to conserve power while no solar is going in, but will also keep the 'neighbours' happy.
Battery Tips - Solar Input

Solar input will only be at peak for a few hours a day. Typically peak input will be reached some time between the hours of 9am - 3pm. Ensure all appliances and lights are turned off when not in use, to maximise the excess solar feeding to the batteries.
Maintenance Tips - Stabiliser Leg Lubrication

Keep the stabiliser legs lubricated by removing the black cap from the top of the leg to expose the cogs. Wipe grease between the teeth/cogs. Move the legs up and down to spread the grease.
Maintenance Tips - Trailing Arm Lubrication

Your wheels attach to the trailing arms. Each trailing arm has two grease nipples. Apply high temperature bearing grease to each grease nipple until you see fresh grease weaping from around the bushes. Wipe the excess clean once finished.
Maintenance Tips - Hitch Lubrication

The hitch plates and tow pin should be kept well lubricated, using a dry PTFE lubricant. Dry lubricant will attract less debri.
The swivel head of the hitch should be lubricated with high temperature bearing grease. Pump grease through until you see fresh grease pushing out of the seals.

Ensure excess grease is wiped clean once finished.
Cleaning Tips - Vehicle Cleaning

What we use:
-
PureWax is great for waterless cleaning of the vehicles.
-

-
IMPORTANT: If you have any wraps, magnets or graphics on the vehicle, be sure to follow the suppliers instructions.
Cleaning Tips - Checkerplate Cleaning

What we use:
-
Silicone Tyre Shine - For the checker plate on the van and truck we use Sierra Tyre Slick. It brings a nice shine to the checker plate. Dirt and dust will stick a little, but it makes cleaning much easier.
